Cast mycelium (fungi roots) is sustainable, long-lasting, and ages beautifully. Symbolic of the interconnectedness of all things, it is essential to all life, has survived for eons, cleans toxic waste, and repairs damaged ecosystems. 

As a material for making, it is aesthetically interesting and complex. It is completely biodegradable if composted, yet lasts for decades if protected from moisture.
