I've had my head down in the studio, testing ideas and making smaller works as possible prototypes for larger pieces and an installation later this year. There are several interesting exhibition opportunities on the horizon which I'll share more about as they become confirmed.

I’m currently focused on two different tracks: my Stitch series, and various materials tests for mixed media sculpture.

My aim is for the work to have an organic feel, but not too 'fraught' or 'damaged' as the work is for a more commercial application. (See Stitch No. 1 and Stitch No. 2)

What is it about stitching paper into thread that I find so mesmerising? It is truly meditative, at times frustrating, and always surprising. It’s the unexpected outcomes that keep me exploring.

Part of the process is allowing myself to play with the media, but I gave myself parameters:

I will only use paper and thread
A limited color palette
A range of sizes but I’m aiming for generally small studies
